As if harga barang in town is not enough to drive you crazy, now they want us to buy new helmets! Why? Because some smart alec says that half-shell helmets (conveniently called tortoise) are not safe anymore. Excuse me! Have been wearing mine (coveted SGV brand and approved by SIRIM some more) since time immemorial. And worse still this guy from the Road Safety Dept has the nerve to compare it with the toy helmet for kids! Memanglah helmet toy (yang sama shape) ya sik boleh pakei! Yang diapprove SIRIM lainlah, bodo!!!
Aiya! Why do some people in authority can be so s*****?
After this don't be surprised if the same guy asks car drivers to wear helmet too. That will be the day.

my colleague had an small bike accident few months ago. however, she had a small blood clot just below her neck when she fall of the motorbike. having an adult head, i believe she would have not had that if she wore full helmet. then again, accident is an accident, you wouldn't know what will happen.
Wah..Kalau car drivers kena pakai helmet..Dah jadi F1 drivers la nanti pulak..
oh yes, i heard love a full about this. But i prefer a full face helmet.
sumuk> o dear.hope yr fren recovers.this helmet thing is very debatable.d authorities shld be clear abt what is safe to wear & what is risky. dont approve sub standard equipment. hv heard lots of stories abt people getting killed even wearing helmets. these iron horses r dangerous but with expensive petrol and traffic jams, people (incl me) hv no choice. :)

i hv tried a full face willie...only good for long distance and speed riding cos of the strong wind and safety..but panas macam apa...
I still have my SGV helmet too, with visors! from my uni-days. :-)
F1 drivers? then the govt cant blame us all if we all imagine we're Schumacher on the road. Hehe

Hi Sir..I heard they also banned the turtle helmet.. :) I like that helmet..Got style mah...guess can't used it anymore..now back to my dad's SGV helmet..bummer :)
ngal, it wont be a surprised if u saw me wearing a helmet made from real tortoise shell, coz i bet its still not covered by the JPJ law,. but then again, may b its covered by the Forestry Dept Act as certain species of the tortoise are protected under the law. the irony is that, the half shelled helmet has been around for years but its only now that they said that it was illegal. A toy is a toy and a helmet is a helmet anyway. Oh...blind me...!
either its'tortoise shape of full helmet..one thing i'm sure is...driving or riding safely is the best policy...even if you have your helmet..if you take the road as a racing circuit...nothing much your helmet can do..to save your life in an accident..
